Kudos to Tulen center for a well done self-defense class. My daughter soaked it all up, and we practiced when we got home. As a former US Marine, I’m knowledgable and well practiced in the ways of self-defense. Unfortunately, I’ve found some such classes lacking in certain areas. From what my daughter showed me, Tulen center is doing it right.
Next Classes: July 28, October 20, January 19th 7-9PM
See you soon! Once you’ve made your purchase we’ll be in touch to let you know what to expect. Thank you!

KIDS’ SELF DEFENSE:
KOIN 6 Stopped by summer camp to learn about our kids’ self-defense:
NO! GO! YELL! TELL! KIDS’ SELF DEFENSE WORKSHOP:
This self-defense class for kids 6-11 years old is fun and empowering. As experts, we want your child to be aware, but also to feel safe. With age appropriate information presented calmly and clearly, and a focus on your child’s strengths, we do just that. Kids learn to use their voice and get out of situations that are uncomfortable or even threatening. They learn to hit and hit hard. They learn when it’s appropriate to hit and when it’s not. We ask you to stay and participate or watch. Your child will be the safest when you open up strong lines of communication and keep this conversation going at home.
Private lessons or classes for your group are available. Just ask!
Thank you again for hosting our Girl Scout troop. It was a great class and I feel fortunate that there is a place like Tulen Center where the girls can learn to “No, Go, Yell, Tell!”.
- The Washington Post reports that sexual assault, a longtime problem on college campuses, has become a national issue.
- The Bureau of Justice statistics show that most victims of rape or sexual assault are females younger than 24 years of age.

At Tulen Center, we teach basic, effective skills which are easy to remember and can be counted on when they are needed. We respect each individual and create an atmosphere of mutual support within the group. With presentation, discussion and lots of practice and hands on striking, participants leave the workshop with real tactics and moves that keep them safe.
