Yes! I want to be part of the bowl-a-thon Team!

This is a family-friendly event that is open to the community.

Funds raised at the 3rd Annual 2015 event supported three local organization: SARC (Sexual Assault Resource Center), a program that serves survivors of sexual exploitation and violence; Janus Youth Programs, providing homeless youth with outreach services; and Just Yell Fire, a safety awareness curriculum for girls and young women that teaches them how to defend themselves against sexual assault and abuse. These organizations are at the forefront of the great work being done in our communities to address human trafficking problems and the violence being perpetrated against our youth.

In addition, the funds raised by the Bowl-A-Thon have been able to help teens and homeless or runaway youth find safe and secure shelter, gain access to health care services, receive clothing and hygiene supplies, re-establish educational plans, build job skills; and support a drop-in shelter for women on the street involved in human trafficking.

The Bowl-A-Thon also has prizes for Best Team Costume and the Youngest and Oldest Bowlers, and 2015 event included 25 raffle prizes donated by local businesses and individual community members.

For the 2016 event, we would like to completely fill Sunset Lanes’ 36 bowling alleys with 216 bowlers, which is 6 people per lane. Last year we came close with about 198 bowlers, raising just over $6900 to support organizations addressing human trafficking issues.

Any efforts or assistance you can provide to help spread the word about the fundraising Bowl-A-Thon would be greatly appreciated. And your also welcome to donate raffle prizes.

You can even create a bowling team and come dressed to bowl in your martial arts training gear! Just a thought.
